The NIBCO px00678c is a reducing PEX tee fitting designed for use in potable water and hydronic plumbing systems. Built to the ASTM F1807 standard, this fitting uses a cold-expansion socket connection method compatible with SSC (stainless steel clamp) and poly PEX crimp-ring installation. The reducing tee accepts a 3/4 inch main run with a 1/2 inch branch outlet, making it a common fitting for residential and light commercial water distribution systems where branch lines step down in size. Licensed plumbers and PEX installers use this fitting when transitioning flow from a main trunk line to a smaller service branch.
This fitting is appropriate for new construction and retrofit PEX plumbing installations in residential and light commercial applications. It is suited for use in hot and cold water supply lines, radiant floor heating manifold branch work, and other hydronic distribution systems. The F1807 standard designation confirms compatibility with metal insert fittings installed using the crimp-ring method with the appropriate PEX pipe size.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch F1807-compliant PEX plumbing systems using the crimp-ring connection method.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into existing pipe. Use a calibrated PEX crimp or clamp tool sized for the correct ring diameter to achieve a proper seal. Do not over-crimp or install fittings on kinked or damaged pipe sections.
