The NIBCO PRESTRED11211 is a reducing copper press tee designed for use in pressurized plumbing and hydronic systems. It connects three copper pipe runs in a tee configuration with a reducing branch, using a press-fit connection method that eliminates the need for open flame or soldering. The fitting measures 1-1/2 inches on the run ends and 1 inch on the branch end, with all three connections being press-style (P x P x P). This type of fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on water distribution, heating, and cooling piping systems.
This reducing press tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating applications where copper piping is the specified material. It is used when a branch line of smaller diameter must be tapped off a main line without transitioning away from a press-fit system. The press connection method is particularly useful in retrofit or confined-space installations where torch access is restricted or prohibited by code.
Designed as an OEM-style press-fit replacement fitting for copper piping systems using standard press connections in residential and commercial plumbing applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water or hydronic system completely before fitting installation. Use a listed press tool with the correct jaw size for each port diameter. Verify that pipe ends are clean, deburred, and fully seated into the fitting before pressing.
