The NIBCO PRESREDFTGC11434 is a copper reducing fitting designed to transition from a 1-1/4 inch FTG (fitting) end to a 3/4 inch press connection. This reducer is used in hydronic and domestic water piping systems where a change in pipe diameter is required. The FTG end slides over the outside of copper pipe for a soldered joint, while the press end creates a permanent, solder-free connection using a press tool. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work on copper distribution systems.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where copper piping transitions between sizes. The FTG x press configuration allows one end to be soldered into an existing or new copper assembly while the press end provides a fast, flame-free connection on the secondary line. It is commonly installed in water supply, heating, and cooling distribution piping where reducing from a 1-1/4 inch main to a 3/4 inch branch or secondary run is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit reducer for copper FTG x press piping systems in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic heating applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water supply and drain the affected piping section before beginning work. The FTG end requires standard soldering practices with appropriate flux and lead-free solder, while the press end requires a compatible press tool with the correct jaw size for 3/4 inch copper press fittings. Do not press the fitting without verifying the pipe is clean, dry, and fully inserted to the stop mark.
