The NIBCO PRESRED134 is a copper press-by-press reducing coupling designed for transitioning between 1-inch and 3/4-inch copper pipe in pressurized water systems. This fitting uses press-style connections on both ends, eliminating the need for open flame soldering during installation. It is a common component in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where tube-size reductions are required along a run. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using a compatible press tool and jaw set rated for copper press fittings.
This reducing coupling is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution, and general plumbing rough-in applications where a step-down from 1-inch to 3/4-inch copper pipe is needed. Press fittings of this type are widely used in new construction and retrofit work where torch-free installation is required by site conditions, code, or contractor preference.
Designed as an OEM-style press fitting for use with standard 1-inch and 3/4-inch copper tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation requires a calibrated press tool with the correct copper press jaw and ring set sized for each end of the fitting. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing piping. Ensure pipe ends are deburred, clean, and fully inserted to the tube stop before pressing. Work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements for press-joint copper connections.
