The NIBCO PRESRED1141 is a copper press x press reducing coupling designed for pressurized plumbing and hydronic systems. It transitions from a 1-1/4 inch line down to a 1 inch line using a tool-activated press connection on both ends, eliminating the need for open flame or solder during installation. This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial water distribution, hydronic heating, and cooling piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working with press-fit copper systems will find this a straightforward, code-compatible fitting for in-wall, mechanical room, and tight-access applications.
This reducing coupling is used wherever a copper press system requires a step-down transition between pipe sizes. It is appropriate for potable water supply, recirculation loops, and hydronic distribution piping. The press connection design makes it well suited for renovation work, retrofit installations, and new construction where torch-free joining is preferred or required by site conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style press fitting compatible with standard copper press piping systems using 1-1/4 inch and 1 inch copper tube.
Installation requires a calibrated press tool with the correct jaw size for each end of the fitting. Shut off and depressurize the water or hydronic system before making connections. Inspect the pipe end for roundness and deburr before inserting into the fitting. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes and manufacturer pressing instructions to ensure a leak-free joint.
