The NIBCO PRES45STLFTGC112 is a copper 45-degree elbow fitting designed for press-connect and FTG (fitting-to-groove) copper piping systems. It provides a 45-degree change in direction within a pressurized water or hydronic piping run without the need for soldering or open flame. The 1-1/2 inch connection size suits residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using a standard press tool with the appropriate jaw set, making it a code-acceptable solution where torch work is restricted or impractical.
This elbow is suited for potable water supply, hydronic heating, and cooling distribution systems where copper press fittings are specified. The FTG end accepts standard copper tube or a sweat-end fitting directly, giving installers the flexibility to transition between press and soldered connections within the same system. It is commonly used in new construction, renovation, and retrofit work in residential and commercial mechanical rooms.
Designed as an OEM-style press fitting for use in standard copper tube systems sized at 1-1/2 inches, following ASME B16.22 and applicable press-fit copper fitting standards.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter using a compatible press tool and correct jaw size for 1-1/2 inch copper press fittings. Shut off and depressurize the system and ensure all lines are drained before making connections. Verify that the pipe end is clean, deburred, and fully inserted to the reference mark before pressing. Local plumbing codes, including IPC and applicable state amendments, govern final installation requirements.
