The NIBCO NLN10XD is a wafer-style check valve designed for 2-inch pipe systems in commercial and industrial plumbing and mechanical applications. It prevents backflow by allowing fluid to travel in one direction only, closing automatically when forward flow stops. The cast iron body is rated to 200 psi WOG (water, oil, gas) and carries a maximum working temperature of 200 degrees F. Bronze seals and a stainless steel spring deliver reliable seating and cycle life across a wide range of fluid service conditions. This valve meets NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372 lead-free standards, making it suitable for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
The NLN10XD fits between flanges in a wafer-style installation, making it well suited for tight-clearance mechanical rooms, plant piping, and commercial HVAC hydronic systems. The wafer configuration eliminates the need for a full-body flanged assembly, reducing installed weight and face-to-face footprint. Its FM listing supports use in fire protection-adjacent piping where approved check valves are required. With a crack pressure of 0.50 psi, the valve opens under minimal differential pressure, keeping system flow resistance low.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation wafer check valve for 2-inch flanged piping systems in commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and industrial fluid service applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the IPC. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing the valve. Confirm flange bolt pattern and gasket compatibility before compressing the wafer body between flanges. Verify flow-direction arrow on the valve body is aligned with intended system flow before final torque of flange fasteners.
