The NIBCO NLJ140K is a manual wafer-style butterfly valve designed for flow control in commercial and industrial piping systems. Built around a cast iron body, aluminum bronze disc, and stainless steel stem, this valve handles line pressures up to 200 psi at temperatures up to 180 degrees F. A lever handle provides direct, quarter-turn actuation for quick shut-off or throttling. The Buna-N seat delivers a resilient seal compatible with a broad range of water and general-service fluid applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this class of valve.
The NLJ140K is suited for 6-inch pipe installations in commercial HVAC hydronic systems, industrial process piping, water distribution, and building mechanical rooms. Its wafer-style body fits between standard pipe flanges, keeping installation compact and reducing overall system weight compared to lug-body alternatives. The lever handle makes it well-suited for accessible locations where manual operation is preferred over actuated control. This valve is intended for general water service and compatible fluid applications within its rated pressure and temperature range.
Designed as an OEM-style wafer butterfly valve for 6-inch pipe systems using standard ANSI flange connections in commercial and industrial mechanical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B31 piping system requirements. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing existing valves or installing this valve between flanges. Verify flange bolt pattern, gasket seating, and disc clearance before torquing flange bolts to ensure the disc can cycle without obstruction. Do not exceed the rated working pressure of 200 psi or the maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F.
