The NIBCO NLJ120H is a manual wafer-style butterfly valve designed for flow control in commercial and industrial piping systems. Built with a cast iron body, ductile iron disc, and stainless steel stem, this valve handles demanding service conditions while keeping weight manageable at 10.8 pounds. The lever handle allows quick quarter-turn operation for open and shut control without the need for tools or actuators. Rated to 200 psi maximum working pressure and 250 degrees F maximum working temperature, the NLJ120H suits a wide range of liquid service applications where reliable shutoff or throttling is required.
This valve is suited for 4-inch pipe installations in commercial HVAC, plumbing, and industrial process piping systems. The wafer-style body fits between standard pipe flanges, keeping the installation footprint compact and reducing overall system weight compared to lug-style alternatives. The ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) seat material performs well in hot water and many water-based fluid services. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors typically specify this valve for hydronic heating and cooling systems, chilled water lines, and general water distribution applications.
Designed as an OEM-style wafer butterfly valve for 4-inch flanged piping systems where API 609 and MSS SP-67 compliant valves are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing any existing valve or installing this unit. The wafer body must be centered between flanges with proper gaskets on each face before flange bolts are torqued. Confirm disc clearance in the pipe bore during assembly to avoid damage when cycling the valve.
