The NIBCO NL99J48 is a 3-piece, full-port ball valve in the T-595-CS-R-66-LL series, designed for reliable shutoff in demanding process and utility piping systems. The carbon steel body handles pressures up to 1000 psi and temperatures up to 400 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of industrial and commercial service conditions. A 316 stainless steel ball and stem paired with PTFE and reinforced TFE seats and seals deliver low torque, bubble-tight shutoff. The integrated locking lever handle prevents unauthorized or accidental operation, a critical feature in process environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this valve.
The NL99J48 is rated for process piping, utility service, and select chemical applications where a threaded-end, carbon steel valve is specified. The 3/4 in NPT end connections and 3/4 in full-bore orifice maintain full flow capacity with minimal pressure drop. The 3-piece body design allows in-line service and seat replacement without removing the valve from the pipeline, reducing maintenance downtime. This valve is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit installations in commercial and light industrial settings.
Designed for process piping, utility service, and some chemical applications requiring a 3/4 in NPT, full-port, carbon steel ball valve rated to 1000 psi and 400 degrees F. Compatible media include water as stated by the manufacturer; confirm suitability for chemical service against the published chemical resistance data for carbon steel and PTFE before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and the authority having jurisdiction. Depressurize and drain the line completely before removing an existing valve or installing this unit. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT male threads per standard practice; do not over-tighten, which can distort the valve body. Confirm that the locking lever is fully engaged in the open or closed position after installation and before returning the system to service.
