The NIBCO NL9901A is a 2-piece, full port ball valve designed for shut-off service in potable water systems and general plumbing applications. Built to Series T-685-80-LF specifications, this lead-free valve features a silicon bronze body and ball with EPDM and virgin PTFE softgoods. It carries a 600 psi working pressure rating and uses a lever-operated actuator for quick quarter-turn open and close operation. With a 1-inch full port orifice, the valve maintains maximum flow capacity with minimal pressure drop. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this valve in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where lead-free compliance is required.
The NL9901A is suited for potable water service in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Its lead-free silicon bronze construction meets California Section 116875 of the California Health and Safety Code for drinking water, making it appropriate for installations in California and any jurisdiction enforcing the federal Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act. The FNPT end connections accept standard threaded pipe. It is commonly installed as a shut-off valve on branch lines, equipment isolation points, and water service entrances where a durable, code-compliant quarter-turn valve is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation shut-off valve for 1-inch FNPT threaded pipe systems in potable water, plumbing, and general fluid service applications where lead-free materials are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off upstream water supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to fitting manufacturer specifications using a pipe wrench on the valve body flats, not on the handle. Verify the valve is in the fully open position during pressure testing to protect the seat and softgoods.
