The NIBCO NL944KCP is a fire-safe manual ball valve designed for demanding industrial and commercial piping applications. Built with a 1-piece bronze and carbon steel body, it handles up to 1500 psi working pressure and up to 400 degrees F, making it suitable for high-pressure steam, gas, and liquid service lines. The reduced-port design uses a reinforced PTFE seat and stainless steel trim to maintain reliable shutoff even in thermal stress conditions. A locking lever handle prevents accidental actuation in critical systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve type.
This valve is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where fire-safe shutoff is required. The FNPT x FNPT end connections allow straightforward threaded installation into 1-1/2 inch pipe runs. Typical applications include fuel gas distribution, heating systems, process piping, and other lines where fire-safe certification and high-pressure ratings are mandatory. The locking lever adds an extra layer of operational safety in environments where inadvertent valve operation must be prevented.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing or installing any valve. Apply appropriate thread sealant to FNPT connections and tighten to manufacturer-recommended engagement depth without over-torquing the threaded joints. Verify the locking lever is in the closed position before returning the system to service and confirm there are no leaks at operating pressure.
