The NIBCO NL9318A is a 1-inch in-line lift check valve from the T-480-Y series, designed to allow one-directional flow while preventing backflow in piping systems. It uses a spring actuator to provide positive shutoff without relying on gravity or flow orientation alone. The body is cast bronze with stainless steel and PTFE trim, and the sealing disc is compatible with Buna-N elastomers. Rated at 250 psi working pressure and 353 degrees F, this valve is built for demanding residential and commercial plumbing and hydronic applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of valve in hot and cold water distribution, heating systems, and general fluid service lines.
The NL9318A is suited for horizontal or vertical in-line installations where preventing reverse flow is required. Its FNPT end connections make it compatible with standard threaded pipe assemblies. The 125 lb pressure class and 250 psi rating cover a wide range of commercial and light industrial service conditions. This valve is domestically manufactured and carries a 5-year limited warranty. Note: per manufacturer documentation, this valve is not approved for potable drinking water service in California under Section 116875.
Designed as an OEM-style in-line lift check valve for threaded piping systems rated within the 125 lb pressure class. Not approved for potable drinking water service in California per Section 116875.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing the valve. FNPT connections require appropriate thread sealant or tape applied to male threads only. Verify flow direction against the valve body markings before completing the installation.
