The NIBCO NL9200D is a Y-pattern check valve designed to allow one-directional flow and prevent backflow in pressurized piping systems. Built with a bronze body and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seal, it is rated for up to 600 WOG (water, oil, gas) service at a maximum working pressure of 600 psi. The valve connects via female NPT threads on both ends, making it straightforward to install in standard threaded pipe systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of valve in commercial and industrial applications where backflow prevention and pressure integrity are critical requirements.
The NL9200D is suited for use in 2-inch threaded piping systems handling water, oil, or gas service. Its Y-pattern design provides a more streamlined flow path compared to swing-type check valves, reducing turbulence and pressure drop across the valve. Typical install scenarios include boiler feed lines, pump discharge piping, compressed air lines, and fluid distribution systems where reverse flow must be prevented. The valve is rated to a maximum temperature of 421 degrees F, making it appropriate for a range of hot-water and steam-adjacent applications within that limit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation check valve for 2-inch female NPT threaded piping systems in water, oil, and gas service applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC where adopted. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing or installing the valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT threads before making up connections, and do not over-tighten threaded joints. Verify flow direction markings on the valve body and orient the valve correctly in the line before final assembly.
