The NIBCO NL9200B is a Y-pattern check valve designed to allow one-directional flow and prevent backflow in pressurized piping systems. Built with a bronze body and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seal, it is rated for 600 WOG (water, oil, gas) service at working pressures up to 600 psi. The Y-pattern design reduces flow restriction compared to swing-style check valves, making it well-suited for applications where pressure drop is a concern. Female NPT connections on both ends allow straightforward installation into threaded piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve.
This valve is used in residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and industrial piping systems where backflow prevention is required on liquid or gas lines. With a maximum rated temperature of 421 degrees F, it is suitable for hot water, steam-adjacent, and process piping applications. The 1-1/4 inch pipe size fits common branch and main line configurations in both new construction and retrofit service work. Its bronze construction makes it appropriate for use in wet, corrosive, and high-cycle service environments.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded check valve for 1-1/4 inch NPT piping systems in plumbing, hydronic, and industrial applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Isolate and depressurize the line and verify it is fully drained before removing or installing the valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male NPT fittings before making up the connection. Verify flow direction is correct before returning the system to service, as check valves are directional and will not function if installed backwards.
