The NIBCO NL92008 is a bronze Y-pattern check valve designed to allow one-directional flow and prevent backflow in pressurized piping systems. Built with a bronze body and a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) seal, this valve is rated for up to 600 psi WOG (Water, Oil, Gas) service. The Y-pattern configuration reduces pressure drop compared to standard swing-type check valves, making it well suited for installations where flow efficiency matters. Connections are female NPT on both ends, allowing straightforward threaded installation into standard iron pipe size piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of valve.
This check valve is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, compressed air, oil, and gas piping systems where backflow prevention is required. The 3/4 inch pipe size fits a wide range of common supply and distribution lines. The PTFE seal material provides chemical resistance and reliable seating across the full rated temperature range. It is suited for installations that require a compact, inline check valve without the need for swing-arm clearance inside the valve body.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded check valve for 3/4 inch iron pipe size plumbing, hydronic, compressed air, oil, and gas piping systems using female NPT connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements for gas service applications. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before making up connections, and do not over-torque threaded fittings into the bronze body. Verify flow direction markings on the valve body before final installation to ensure correct orientation.
