The NIBCO NL75005 is a 3/8 inch Y-pattern check valve designed to allow one-directional fluid flow while preventing backflow in pressurized piping systems. It features female NPT (FNPT) connections on both ends and is rated at 200 WOG (Water, Oil, Gas), making it suitable for a range of general-purpose service lines. The bronze body provides corrosion resistance in wet environments, and the nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) seal ensures a reliable shutoff against common hydraulic fluids, water, and light petroleum products. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve type in commercial and residential service piping.
This valve is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and industrial service lines where backflow prevention is required on smaller-diameter piping. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water or fluid supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing this valve. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on all NPT connections and tighten to hand-snug before applying wrench torque — avoid over-tightening bronze-bodied fittings. Verify flow-direction arrow on the valve body is aligned with the intended direction of flow before finalizing the installation.
