The NIBCO NL0Z00D is a rising stem gate valve designed for full-flow isolation in plumbing and piping systems. Built with a bronze body and solid wedge disc, this valve provides reliable shutoff in systems requiring frequent operation and visual stem-position confirmation. The union bonnet design simplifies in-line maintenance without removing the valve body from the line. Rated at pressure class 125, it is suited for low-pressure water, oil, and gas service in commercial and residential installations. A wheel handle provides positive manual control. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve type.
This valve is sized for 2-inch threaded pipe connections, making it a standard fit for distribution mains, branch lines, and equipment isolation in commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and light industrial piping. The rising stem design gives a clear visual indicator of valve position — stem up means open, stem down means closed — which is a useful feature in mechanical rooms and utility spaces where multiple valves are present. It conforms to MSS SP-80, the industry standard for bronze gate, globe, angle, and check valves.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation gate valve for 2-inch threaded bronze valve applications in residential and commercial plumbing and hydronic piping systems rated at pressure class 125.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B31 piping standards. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any valve. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads per standard practice, and avoid over-tightening, which can crack bronze fittings. Orient the valve so the stem is accessible for operation and future maintenance.
