The NIBCO NJ83H08 is a 2-piece, full port ball valve in the S-585-70-66 series, designed for reliable shut-off in commercial and light industrial piping systems. The bronze body houses a stainless steel ball and stainless steel stem trim, with PTFE softgoods for a durable, low-friction seat. Rated to 600 psi and 400 degrees F, this valve handles demanding service conditions across a wide range of media. A standard lever actuator provides quarter-turn operation, and the solder end connection suits copper pipe installations common in mechanical rooms and process piping applications. Domestically manufactured.
The NJ83H08 is suited for commercial and light industrial process applications including HVAC systems, hot and cold domestic water, low-pressure steam, compressed air, LP gas, natural gas, and aggressive water service. The 3/4 inch full port design maintains full flow through a 3/4 inch orifice, minimizing pressure drop across the valve. The inlet-to-outlet length is 3.25 inches and the top-to-inlet center dimension is 2.25 inches, making it compatible with standard inline piping layouts where space and dimension planning are required.
Designed for commercial and light industrial process applications that may include HVAC, hot and cold domestic water, low-pressure steam, compressed air, LP gas, natural gas, and aggressive water service. Note: per California Section 116875, this valve is not approved for potable drinking water service.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and local mechanical codes. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before sweating the solder end connections to avoid damaging the PTFE seat and softgoods. Apply heat to the fitting body cautiously and allow the valve to cool before returning the system to service. Verify the lever handle is in the closed position during soldering to protect internal components.
