The NIBCO NJ8300A is a 2-piece, full port manual ball valve rated for use in commercial and residential plumbing, hydronic heating, and mechanical systems. Built with a bronze body and bronze trim, it connects via sweat (soldered) ends on both sides and is operated by a lever handle for quick quarter-turn shutoff. The valve carries a maximum working pressure of 150 psi and a maximum working temperature of 280 degrees F. The full port design maintains full pipe bore diameter, minimizing flow restriction through the valve. The seat is constructed from reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) for chemical resistance and long service life under thermal cycling conditions.
This valve is suited for 1-inch copper pipe installations in residential and light commercial applications including domestic hot and cold water supply, hydronic heating loops, and general fluid shutoff service. The soldered end connections make it compatible with standard copper tubing joined by sweat fitting methods. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this valve during new construction, system retrofits, and isolation service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ball valve for 1-inch copper pipe systems using soldered end connections in residential and commercial plumbing and hydronic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IAPMO or IPC requirements. Shut off and drain the system and relieve all pressure before cutting into the line or soldering. Use standard sweat soldering techniques with lead-free solder where required by code. Allow the valve and fittings to cool fully before restoring system pressure and checking for leaks.
