The NIBCO NJ7K006 is a Y-pattern swing check valve in the S-433-Y series, designed to allow one-directional flow while preventing backflow in pressurized piping systems. The bronze body construction provides durability in demanding commercial and industrial environments. With a 300 psi pressure rating at a 150 lb pressure class and solder end connections, this valve integrates directly into copper piping without threaded fittings. The PTFE seat material ensures a reliable, low-friction seal. An integral seat design simplifies installation and reduces potential leak points. This valve is domestically manufactured and carries a 5-year limited warranty.
The NJ7K006 is rated for commercial, mechanical, and industrial applications where backflow prevention is required in horizontal swing-check configurations. The Y-pattern body orientation makes it well suited for piping layouts where pressure drop must be minimized while maintaining reliable check performance. The 1/2-inch nominal solder connection is compatible with standard copper tubing used throughout commercial mechanical systems. Note that this valve is not approved for potable drinking water service per CA Section 116875 and does not meet low-lead compliance requirements — it should not be installed in domestic water supply lines intended for human consumption.
Designed for commercial, mechanical, and industrial piping systems using 1/2-inch nominal copper tubing with solder connections. Not approved for potable drinking water service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before soldering the valve into the line. Follow standard copper sweat-solder procedures, ensuring the valve body does not overheat during the soldering process, as excessive heat can damage internal components. Verify correct flow direction by confirming the arrow on the valve body aligns with intended flow before completing the installation.
