The NIBCO NHE3S0H is a 4-inch horizontal swing check valve in the F-918-B series, designed for commercial, mechanical, and industrial piping systems. It features a cast iron body with bronze trim and a synthetic fiber disc, rated for 200 psi and a temperature range of -20 to 150 degrees F at a 125 lb pressure class. A lever handle actuator controls disc movement, allowing flow in one direction and preventing backflow automatically. The bolted bonnet design provides secure, serviceable closure. This valve is manufactured domestically and suited for steam and similar industrial media applications. Licensed HVAC mechanics, pipefitters, and industrial plumbers are the typical installers.
This valve is rated for commercial, mechanical, and industrial applications where reliable backflow prevention is required in flanged piping systems. The flanged end connection accommodates standard 125 lb flange mating surfaces. The lever handle actuator makes it appropriate for systems where manual assist or visual confirmation of valve position is needed. Note that this valve is not approved for potable drinking water service per CA Section 116875. Inlet-to-outlet length is 11.5 inches, and top-to-inlet center measures 6.13 inches, which should be accounted for during layout and rough-in planning.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation swing check valve for 4-inch flanged piping systems operating within commercial, mechanical, and industrial environments. Not for use in potable drinking water service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or journeyman plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical and piping codes. Shut down and depressurize the system completely before installation or service. Ensure flange faces are clean and gasket surfaces are in good condition before torquing flange bolts. Verify flow direction matches the arrow or marking on the valve body before final assembly.
