The NIBCO nf843c6 is a two-piece bronze full port ball valve designed for press-to-connect plumbing systems. It features a press female inlet connection paired with a hose end connection, and includes a hose cap and chain attached to the valve body. Rated for 250 psi non-shock cold working pressure with a maximum service temperature of 250 degrees F, this valve is built for demanding service conditions. A blowout-proof stem and reinforced PTFE seat rings provide reliable shutoff. The valve incorporates a press leak-detection feature that allows a controlled leak during pressure testing if the press connection has not been properly crimped, giving installers a clear go or no-go indicator at startup.
This valve is suited for commercial and residential hydronic and plumbing piping systems where press-to-connect technology is specified. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working with copper press systems. When properly crimped, a unique N witness mark is visible on the fitting, confirming a complete and secure connection. Note: Use in U.S. drinking water applications is prohibited after January 3, 2014. This valve is not approved for potable water service and should be applied accordingly in non-potable or closed-loop systems.
Designed as an OEM-style full port ball valve for 1/2 inch copper press piping systems. Conforms to MSS SP-110. Not approved for U.S. drinking water applications after January 3, 2014.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with press-fitting systems. Depressurize and drain the system before installing or servicing this valve. Use the appropriate press tool and jaw size specified for the fitting size to ensure a complete crimp. Verify the N witness mark is visible after pressing and confirm the connection is leak-free during the initial pressure test before returning the system to service.
