The NIBCO MD910AC is a true union manual ball valve designed for 1-1/2 inch pipe systems requiring reliable, full-port flow control. The body is constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), a high-performance thermoplastic well-suited for corrosive chemical, high-purity, and industrial fluid applications. A wedge-style handle provides firm manual actuation, and the true union design allows the valve to be removed from the line without cutting or disturbing adjacent piping. Schedule 80 construction adds wall thickness and pressure-handling capability. Installation and removal are straightforward for plumbers and industrial pipe fitters working in chemical processing, water treatment, or similar process piping environments.
This valve is intended for use in process piping systems where chemical resistance and clean, unrestricted flow are required. Full-port construction means the internal bore matches the pipe diameter, minimizing pressure drop across the valve. The FNPT x FNPT end connections allow direct threading into female-threaded fittings or equipment ports. Its red handle provides quick visual identification in multi-valve installations. Typical applications include chemical feed lines, deionized water systems, and industrial fluid handling where PVDF material compatibility is a specification requirement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation valve for 1-1/2 inch Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems using FNPT threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipe fitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems and applicable codes such as the IPC. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any valve. Use thread sealant compatible with PVDF and the system fluid when making FNPT connections. Do not over-torque threaded plastic fittings, as excess force can crack PVDF bodies.
