The NIBCO M001100 is a 1/2-inch CPVC slip-by-slip pipe coupling designed for joining CPVC pipe in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. CPVC construction supports a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F, making it suitable for both hot and cold water distribution lines. The slip-by-slip end connection accepts solvent-cement joints on both ends. Licensed plumbers and experienced DIYers install this fitting as a standard in-line connection point or repair coupling. It meets ASTM and NSF/ANSI standards, confirming material and performance compliance for potable water service.
This coupling is used in 1/2-inch CPVC pipe runs in residential water supply systems, including domestic hot and cold distribution, and light commercial plumbing where CPVC is the specified pipe material. The slip connection style requires CPVC-rated solvent cement and primer applied to both the pipe end and the fitting socket before assembly. It is not compatible with PVC or CPVC threaded fittings and should not be used with copper or PEX connections without appropriate transition fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stock fitting for 1/2-inch CPVC pipe systems using solvent-cement slip connections in potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASTM D2846 solvent-cement joint procedures. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into an existing line. Use only CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement — do not substitute PVC cement. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer guidelines before pressurizing the system.
