The NIBCO LD-2022-0-4 is a ductile iron lug-style butterfly valve designed for reliable shutoff and flow control in commercial, mechanical, and industrial piping systems. It operates with a quarter-turn (90 degrees) open-to-close action, reducing operator effort during frequent cycling. The internal stem and disc use a geometric drive design that eliminates the need for pins or bolts, removing potential leak paths and minimizing turbulence in the waterway. The valve is rated to 200 psi and features a molded-in EPDM seat liner paired with a CF8M stainless steel disc and stem. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve type.
The LD-2022-0-4 is suited for most water applications in commercial mechanical rooms, industrial process lines, and building service piping. The lug-body configuration allows the valve to be installed between flanges and permits independent removal of downstream piping without disturbing the upstream line. An extended neck accommodates pipe insulation up to 2 inches, making it appropriate for chilled water and cold-service installations where insulation continuity is required.
Designed for use in commercial, mechanical, and industrial water piping applications where a lug-style butterfly valve with an EPDM seat and stainless steel disc is specified. Consult NIBCO technical data sheets and chemical resistance guides to confirm suitability for specific fluids or service conditions.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and the NIBCO installation instructions. Isolate and depressurize the system fully before beginning work. The lug configuration requires proper flange bolt torque sequencing to ensure an even seat seal — refer to NIBCO technical data sheets for torque guidance. Do not exceed the rated working pressure of 200 psi.
