The NIBCO INC W01700D is a lead-free copper reducing tee fitting designed for sweat (solder) connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Sized at 3/4 x 1/2 x 3/4 inches with a CxCxC end configuration, it features three solder cups that accept standard copper tubing. The fitting allows a continuous run line to branch off in a perpendicular direction while reducing the branch outlet to 1/2 inch. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using standard soldering tools and flux. Its lead-free construction meets current potable water standards for use in domestic water distribution systems.
The W01700D is suited for installation in residential water supply lines, light commercial plumbing, and hydronic distribution systems where a branch takeoff and simultaneous size reduction are required in a single fitting. The inline ports maintain the 3/4 inch run diameter, while the branch port steps down to 1/2 inch, eliminating the need for a separate reducer in many configurations. It is sold in a package quantity of 25 units, making it practical for new construction projects and service replacement work requiring multiple fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting compatible with standard hard and soft copper tubing in CxCxC sweat-joint plumbing assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting and cleaning the pipe ends. Use appropriate flux and lead-free solder rated for potable water systems when making sweat joints. Allow all joints to cool fully before restoring water pressure and testing for leaks.
