The NIBCO INC W01590D is a 1-1/2 inch FTG-by-C (fitting-to-copper tube) 90-degree elbow designed for copper piping systems in commercial and residential plumbing applications. This fitting features a solder cup inlet (female) and a male solder end, allowing it to connect directly into the socket of another fitting without a coupling. The close rough radius design keeps the directional change compact within tight spaces. Lead-free construction meets modern potable water code requirements. Each unit is sold in a package of 10, making it practical for larger rough-in jobs or service van restocking. A licensed plumber performs the sweat-solder installation using standard copper fitting techniques.
The W01590D is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in work where a 90-degree change in pipeline direction is required. The FTGxC configuration is commonly used when transitioning between fittings in a run, allowing a male solder end to seat directly into an adjacent fitting cup. This eliminates the need for an additional coupling and reduces overall fitting count in a piping assembly. Typical applications include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and general copper tube assemblies where a close-radius 90-degree turn is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-1/2 inch copper tube systems requiring a 90-degree directional change with an FTGxC end connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using standard copper sweat-soldering techniques in accordance with IPC and local plumbing codes. Shut off and drain the water supply line completely before cutting or disassembling any existing piping. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before applying lead-free solder. Allow joints to cool fully before restoring water pressure or insulating the line.
