The NIBCO INC W01220T is a lead-free copper CxM adapter fitting designed to transition a solder (sweat) connection to a male NPT threaded connection. The fitting features a solder cup end sized at 1/2 inch and a male NPT threaded end sized at 3/4 inch, making it a reducing adapter. It is used in potable water, hydronic, and general plumbing systems where a copper tubing run must connect to a threaded fitting, valve, or equipment port. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of rough-in, retrofit, and equipment hook-up work.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a copper sweat connection needs to terminate at a male NPT thread. Typical installations include connecting copper water supply lines to threaded valves, water heaters, pressure regulators, and similar threaded-inlet equipment. The lead-free construction meets regulatory requirements for use in potable water systems. It is sold in a package quantity of 25 units, making it practical for multi-unit or production plumbing work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper sweat-to-male-NPT adapter applications in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water supply before soldering, and ensure the copper tube and fitting cup are clean and properly fluxed prior to sweating the joint. Apply PTFE tape or pipe thread sealant to the male NPT threads before making the threaded connection. Do not overheat the fitting body during soldering, as excessive heat can damage nearby threaded components.
