The NIBCO INC W00930C is a lead-free copper reducer fitting designed to transition a 1-1/2-inch line down to a 1-inch line using a FTG (fitting) male solder end on one side and a C (solder cup) end on the other. This sweat-style fitting is used to reduce pipe diameter within a copper water or fluid distribution system. The lead-free construction meets regulatory requirements for potable water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of a soldered copper assembly wherever a line size reduction is required.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using copper tube. It is installed in supply lines, domestic water distribution, and related piping assemblies where a 1-1/2-inch FTG connection meets a 1-inch copper tube. The FTG end slips over the outside of copper tube, allowing the fitting to be soldered inline without the need for an additional coupling at that end.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper tube plumbing systems requiring a 1-1/2-inch to 1-inch sweat reduction.
Installation requires a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter working with standard copper sweat-soldering tools including a pipe cutter, emery cloth or fitting brush, flux, and lead-free solder. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting or fitting. Follow all applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM B88 copper tube standards. Avoid overheating the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage the joint or surrounding materials.
