The NIBCO INC W00815C is a lead-free copper reducing coupling designed to connect a 1.5-inch tube to a 1.25-inch tube using a sweat-solder (CxC) joint. It features solder cups on both ends, allowing a licensed plumber or pipefitter to transition between two different copper tube sizes within a single fitting. The W00815C is part of the U600 product family and meets lead-free requirements for potable water systems. At 2.52 pounds per package of 10, each individual fitting is lightweight and suited for tight mechanical spaces where a clean, permanent copper joint is required.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a pipe run changes from 1.5-inch to 1.25-inch copper tubing. Typical applications include supply-line transitions, branch takeoffs, and retrofit installations where existing copper lines of differing diameters must be joined without additional adapters. It is installed by plumbers working on domestic water supply, hydronic heating distribution, or similar copper piping systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit reducing coupling for 1.5-inch by 1.25-inch CxC copper tube connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting or sweating any fittings. Clean and flux all mating tube ends and solder cup surfaces prior to applying heat. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can damage the solder joint and surrounding pipe.
