The NIBCO INC W00790T is a lead-free copper reducing coupling designed to connect a 1-inch tube to a 3/4-inch tube using sweat-solder (CxC) joints. Solder cups on both ends accept standard copper tubing and create a watertight, pressure-rated joint when properly soldered. This fitting is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a transition from a larger nominal pipe size to a smaller one is required. Licensed plumbers and experienced pipefitters install this fitting as part of copper water distribution, hydronic heating, and similar fluid-handling systems.
This reducing coupling is suited for potable water supply lines, hot and cold distribution headers, and branch reduction in copper tube systems. Its CxC end configuration means both the 1-inch and 3/4-inch ends accept copper tube for a sweat connection. The lead-free construction meets requirements for fittings used in drinking water service. Sold in a package quantity of 5 units per order unit of measure.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with 1-inch and 3/4-inch nominal copper tube in Type K, L, and M copper plumbing systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting or sweating fittings. Clean tube ends and fitting cups with emery cloth and apply approved flux before soldering. Follow local plumbing codes, ASTM B88 tube standards, and manufacturer flux and solder specifications for the appropriate alloy when joining lead-free fittings.
