The NIBCO INC T00340D is a 0.75-inch CPVC-to-brass transition union designed to connect CPVC slip socket piping to male iron pipe (MIP) threaded fittings. This lead-free fitting bridges dissimilar materials in a single, serviceable union assembly, allowing the joint to be broken and re-made without cutting pipe. It is suited for hot and cold water distribution systems in residential and light commercial plumbing installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting wherever a CPVC run must terminate or connect to a brass or iron-threaded component.
This transition union is used in potable water supply piping where CPVC transitions to threaded metallic connections are required. Common install scenarios include water heater connections, boiler supply and return lines, and fixture isolation points where the union simplifies future service access. The lead-free construction makes it appropriate for drinking water applications in jurisdictions enforcing low-lead plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 0.75-inch CPVC piping systems connecting to standard male iron pipe threaded components in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing piping. Apply CPVC-compatible solvent cement to the slip socket end only — do not use PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape on the MIP threads and hand-tighten before applying a wrench to avoid over-torquing the brass threads.
