The NIBCO INC T00310L is a 3/4-inch CPVC-to-brass transition union designed to connect CPVC slip pipe to a female iron pipe (FIP) threaded fitting. This union provides a reliable, serviceable joint between plastic and metal piping systems and is manufactured lead free, making it suitable for potable water applications. It is sized at 3/4 inch with a CPVC slip socket on one end and a brass female iron pipe thread on the other. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial domestic water systems where CPVC lines must terminate or transition to threaded brass or steel components.
This transition union is used where a CPVC distribution line meets a brass valve, meter connection, water heater fitting, or other threaded metal component. The union configuration allows the joint to be broken and remade without cutting pipe, which is valuable for equipment service and replacement. It is appropriate for hot and cold potable water lines in residential construction, remodel work, and light commercial plumbing applications.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for residential and light commercial CPVC plumbing systems where a 3/4-inch CPVC slip line must connect to a 3/4-inch female iron pipe threaded brass component.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Solvent-cement the CPVC slip end to the pipe following the cement manufacturer's cure time requirements before pressurizing. Threaded connections should be made with an appropriate thread sealant rated for potable water; follow local plumbing code requirements, including the International Plumbing Code (IPC), for transition fittings and thread compound selection.
