The NIBCO INC T00300L is a lead-free transition union designed to connect CPVC slip connections to brass female iron pipe (FIP) threaded ends. This fitting bridges CPVC piping systems to metal threaded piping, making it a go-to component wherever a dissimilar-material joint is required. The 0.5-inch slip-by-FIP configuration allows a licensed plumber to transition from a CPVC line directly to a female-threaded brass or iron fitting without improvising adapters. The lead-free construction meets modern potable water standards, making it suitable for domestic water supply applications where material compliance is required by code.
This transition union is used in residential and light commercial plumbing installations where CPVC distribution lines terminate at a threaded metal connection point — common at water heater connections, shutoff valves, and fixture supply risers. The union design allows the joint to be broken and remade during service without cutting pipe, which simplifies future repairs. Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber working under IPC or applicable local plumbing code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 0.5-inch CPVC slip-to-FIP transition applications in residential and light commercial potable water plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code or applicable local code. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. Solvent-cement the CPVC slip end using CPVC-rated cement and primer; do not use PVC cement on CPVC fittings. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male threads before engaging the FIP end, and hand-tighten before final snugging with a wrench — do not overtighten the brass threads.
