The NIBCO INC T00231C is a CPVC reducing bushing designed to transition between two pipe sizes within a hot- and cold-water distribution system. It reduces from a 1-inch socket fitting down to accept 3/4-inch CPVC tubing, making it a practical fitting for branch lines, fixture drops, and anywhere a system steps down in pipe diameter. The beige CPVC construction resists corrosion and handles the elevated temperatures common in potable water systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this bushing as part of a solvent-welded CPVC assembly.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where CPVC piping is the specified material. It is used inside water distribution systems to connect larger-diameter supply runs to smaller branch lines or fixture connections. The fitting integrates directly into a socket-style CPVC fitting, keeping transitions clean and fully solvent-weldable without additional adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for CPVC hot- and cold-water distribution piping systems using socket-style solvent-weld connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Clean and dry both mating surfaces, apply CPVC-rated primer and solvent cement per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and allow full cure time before restoring system pressure. Do not use this fitting with PVC cement or in applications outside its rated pressure and temperature range.
