The NIBCO INC T00075C is a 1-inch CPVC male iron pipe (MIP) adapter designed to transition between CPVC piping and metal threaded fittings in plumbing systems. Manufactured in beige CPVC, this adapter is rated for cold water applications only. It is not suitable for systems where hot water or fluctuating water temperatures are expected. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter in residential and light commercial cold water supply lines where a CPVC-to-threaded-metal connection is required. The part ships in a package quantity of 10 units per unit of measure (EA).
This adapter is used in cold water distribution systems where CPVC pipe terminates at a metal threaded fitting, valve, or fixture connection. Typical install scenarios include water supply risers, fixture supply connections, and cold water branch lines that tie into metal-threaded valve bodies or manifolds. Where the system may transition to hot water service or experience temperature swings, the manufacturer recommends using the 53000 Series Transition Union instead of this adapter. This fitting is not approved for hot water, steam, or high-temperature service.
Designed for use in cold water CPVC piping systems that connect to female-threaded metal fittings. For applications involving hot water or temperature variation, NIBCO recommends using the 53000 Series Transition Union in place of this adapter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning any fitting work. Apply CPVC-compatible thread sealant or tape to the male threads before making up the connection — do not use petroleum-based compounds that can degrade CPVC. This adapter is approved for cold water service only; do not install in hot water, hydronic heating, or steam systems.
