The NIBCO INC T00050D is a CPVC reducing coupling designed to transition between a 3/4-inch pipe and a 1/2-inch pipe in pressurized water distribution systems. Manufactured from chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), this fitting delivers chemical resistance and elevated temperature tolerance suitable for hot and cold potable water lines. The socket-connect design accepts standard CPVC solvent cement for a permanent, leak-free joint. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work where a pipe diameter reduction is required inline.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications, including domestic water supply lines, hydronic branch runs, and other systems that require a controlled reduction from 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch CPVC pipe. It is sold in packages of 20 units, making it practical for rough-in work where multiple reductions are needed across a job site.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for CPVC hot and cold water distribution piping systems using 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch nominal pipe sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Clean and deburr pipe ends, apply CPVC primer and solvent cement per the cement manufacturer's instructions, and allow adequate cure time before restoring pressure. Do not use this fitting with PVC or CPVC cements that are not rated for the service temperature of the system.
