The NIBCO I170100 is a drain, waste, and vent (DWV) end cap fitting manufactured from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic. It accepts a 1-1/2 inch female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connection and is used to terminate an open pipe end in a DWV system. The fitting handles a working temperature range of -40 degrees F to 180 degrees F, making it suitable for standard indoor drain and waste applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting when capping unused branch outlets or sealing the end of a DWV run during rough-in or system modification.

This end cap is designed for residential and light commercial DWV piping systems. It is used wherever a threaded ABS pipe end requires a permanent or temporary seal — common applications include capping branch tees during phased construction, pressure-testing stub-outs, or closing off decommissioned drain lines.
