The NIBCO H-51404 is a brass uni-flange full port ball valve designed for isolating circulators in hydronic heating systems. Sold as a single valve, it features a rotating flange secured by a snap ring that holds position during installation, making alignment straightforward for the installing technician. The adjustable packing nut allows field servicing of the stem seal without full valve replacement. At 1 inch sweat connection size, this valve is sized for typical residential and light commercial circulator installations. Note that this valve is not rated for potable water service and is not suitable for high-velocity circulator applications.
This valve is intended for hydronic heating and closed-loop circulation systems where circulator isolation is required. It fits virtually any standard circulator flange, providing a reliable shutoff point for pump service or replacement without draining the entire system. The included nuts and bolts simplify flange assembly on the job. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians working on boiler and hydronic loop systems are the primary installers of this component.
Fits virtually any standard circulator with a compatible flange pattern. Not suitable for high-velocity circulators. This valve is not for potable water service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with hydronic system service. Shut down the boiler and allow the system to depressurize and cool before removing or installing circulator isolation valves. Use appropriate sweat soldering technique and flux for copper connections, following local plumbing code requirements. Confirm the rotating flange is properly aligned and the snap ring is fully seated before torquing the flange bolts.
