The NIBCO H-36805W is a transition fitting coupling designed to connect press-fit copper piping systems to PEX tubing using a single inline fitting. It features a press end on one side and a PEX end on the other, with an EPDM O-ring seal for a reliable, leak-resistant connection. Rated at 250 psi cold working pressure (CWP), this coupling is built from forged DZR (dezincification-resistant) brass, making it well suited for potable water, hydronic heating, and general plumbing applications where both press and PEX systems meet. It is sized at 1-1/4 inch nominal. Licensed plumbers and hydronic system installers are the primary installers of this fitting.
This coupling is used in residential and light commercial plumbing or hydronic heating systems where a transition between a press-fit copper line and a PEX distribution line is required. Common scenarios include system retrofits, manifold connections, and branch takeoffs where copper mains feed into PEX runs. The 1-1/4 inch nominal size suits main distribution lines and larger branch circuits in multi-zone or multi-fixture installations.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 1-1/4 inch press-fit copper piping systems connecting to 1-1/4 inch PEX tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing or hydronic heating installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM standards for press and PEX connections. Shut off and depressurize the water supply and allow the system to drain before cutting into any existing line. The press end requires a compatible press tool with the correct jaw size for the fitting diameter. Do not use an open flame or heat on this fitting during installation.
