The NIBCO CN02100 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene 90-degree elbow fitting designed for plastic piping systems in corrosive or chemical-resistant applications. It features a 1-1/2 inch fitting size with Slip x SR FIPT end connections, allowing one socket end to be solvent-welded to a plain-end pipe and the other end to thread onto a standard female iron pipe thread fitting. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity than Schedule 40, making this elbow suited for higher-demand service lines. Polypropylene construction resists a broad range of acids, bases, and industrial chemicals. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting.
This elbow is used in residential and commercial plumbing, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution systems where standard PVC or metal fittings are not suitable due to chemical compatibility concerns. The 90-degree turn geometry redirects flow at a right angle, making it a standard component in drain, waste, and process lines built from polypropylene pipe. It is equally at home in laboratory, industrial, and municipal water treatment installations where chemical resistance is a primary requirement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using 1-1/2 inch pipe with Slip x SR FIPT end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting or removing any existing fittings. The slip end requires proper solvent cement rated for polypropylene; standard PVC cement is not compatible with polypropylene. The SR FIPT threaded end should be assembled with appropriate thread sealant rated for the service fluid and polypropylene contact.
