The NIBCO CN02050 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene 90-degree elbow fitting designed for plastic piping systems in industrial, chemical, and plumbing applications. It features a 1-inch slip socket inlet (S) and a socket ring female iron pipe thread outlet (SR FIPT), allowing connection to standard pipe and threaded fittings in the same run. Built from polypropylene, this elbow handles corrosive fluids and aggressive chemicals that would degrade metal or PVC fittings. With a maximum working temperature of 180 degrees F, it suits hot-water and process-fluid lines where thermal resistance matters. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in Schedule 80 polypropylene systems that require a clean 90-degree directional change.
This elbow is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, industrial process piping, and chemical distribution systems where polypropylene's corrosion resistance is required. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capability compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for higher-pressure service runs. The Slip x SR FIPT end connections allow integration with both solvent-weld polypropylene pipe and threaded fittings or valves at the FIPT end.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using solvent-weld and threaded connections.
Installation of polypropylene Schedule 80 fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with plastic piping systems. Shut off fluid supply and depressurize the line before beginning any fitting work. Solvent-cement connections require proper cleaning, priming (where applicable to polypropylene systems), and cure time before returning the line to service. Follow applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for plastic pipe installation in your jurisdiction.
