The NIBCO CN00200 is a 2-inch Schedule 80 polypropylene socket coupling designed to join sections of plastic pipe in industrial and chemical-handling piping systems. Built from polypropylene, this fitting resists a broad range of corrosive media and is well-suited for demanding service environments where PVC or metal fittings would be inadequate. The slip inlet (S) connects to plain-end pipe via solvent or thermal welding, while the SR FIPT threaded outlet allows direct connection to a female-threaded fitting or valve. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on chemical process, industrial wastewater, or specialty fluid systems are the typical installers.
This coupling is intended for use in Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems at 2-inch nominal pipe size. It is appropriate for applications in industrial facilities, laboratories, and manufacturing environments where chemical resistance and pressure-rated performance are required. The Slip x SR FIPT configuration makes it a useful transition fitting where a threaded connection is needed at one end of a polypropylene run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems with Slip x SR FIPT end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems and applicable codes such as the IPC. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting into an existing line. The slip end requires proper pipe preparation and the appropriate fusion or solvent-welding technique specified for polypropylene; do not use PVC solvent cement. Confirm thread sealant compatibility with the process fluid before applying to the SR FIPT connection.
