The NIBCO CN00150 is a Schedule 80 polypropylene socket coupling designed to join 1-1/2 inch plastic piping systems with a Slip x SR FIPT end connection configuration. Built from polypropylene, this fitting offers solid chemical resistance and is well suited for industrial and commercial fluid handling applications where standard PVC or metal fittings may not be appropriate. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this coupling during new construction, system repairs, or line extensions in corrosive-environment piping runs.
This coupling is used in Schedule 80 plastic piping systems handling water, mild chemicals, or industrial process fluids. The Slip socket end accepts a plain pipe end with solvent cement, while the SR FIPT end threads onto a standard male-threaded fitting or pipe. Common applications include chemical processing lines, industrial plumbing, and commercial mechanical systems where polypropylene's resistance to a broad range of chemicals is a requirement. It is sold in single-piece quantity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 polypropylene plastic piping systems using 1-1/2 inch pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting in or replacing any coupling. The slip end requires a compatible polypropylene solvent cement applied per the cement manufacturer's instructions — do not substitute PVC cement. The SR FIPT threaded end should be assembled with an appropriate thread sealant rated for polypropylene and the fluid being conveyed.
