The NIBCO CE04850 is a Schedule 80 threaded pipe flange molded from PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), a high-performance thermoplastic well-suited for aggressive chemical and high-purity fluid systems. Sized for 1-inch pipe with a 4.5-inch outer diameter, this flange provides a secure, leak-resistant bolted connection point in plastic piping systems. PVDF construction delivers strong resistance to a broad range of acids, bases, and solvents, making this flange a practical choice wherever metal flanges would corrode or react with the process fluid. Installation is handled by licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters working in chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial fluid-handling applications.
This flange is used in Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems where threaded end connections are required. Typical applications include chemical feed lines, ultrapure water systems, semiconductor fabrication facilities, and industrial process piping where corrosion resistance and low extractables are critical. The PVDF material also performs well in elevated-temperature service compared to PVC or CPVC flanges, giving it a wider operating range in demanding environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation flange for Schedule 80 thermoplastic piping systems using 1-inch pipe.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing codes. Isolate and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing flange or making new connections. Use appropriate flange gaskets and bolting hardware rated for the fluid service and pressure class. Avoid overtightening threaded connections on PVDF fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
