The NIBCO CE04250 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded union designed for demanding chemical and industrial piping applications. Manufactured from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this fitting delivers excellent resistance to corrosive fluids, making it a reliable choice where standard thermoplastic or metal fittings would degrade. The union features female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends, allowing technicians to disconnect and reconnect pipe runs without cutting into the line. Rated for use across a working temperature range of 73 degrees F to 280 degrees F, it holds up in high-purity, chemical process, and aggressive fluid handling systems.
This fitting is installed in Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems found in industrial process lines, chemical distribution, semiconductor facilities, and water treatment applications. Plumbers and pipefitters working with corrosive or high-purity fluid systems will encounter this union wherever a serviceable, removable joint is required in a plastic threaded line. The FIPT x FIPT configuration connects directly to Schedule 80 male-threaded pipe nipples or fittings without adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVDF thermoplastic piping systems using 1/2 inch FIPT threaded connections.
Installation of PVDF threaded fittings should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with plastic pipe systems. Depressurize and drain the line completely before breaking any existing joint. Use PTFE thread sealant tape rated for PVDF and chemical service — avoid pipe dopes that contain solvents incompatible with PVDF. Do not overtighten; PVDF threads are susceptible to cracking under excessive torque, so hand-tighten plus a controlled additional turn per manufacturer guidelines for thermoplastic fittings.
