The NIBCO CE04100 is a 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket union designed for demanding industrial and chemical piping applications. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this fitting delivers excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive chemicals, making it a reliable choice where standard PVC or CPVC fittings would degrade. The union features a slip inlet connection paired with a solvent-weld socket body, allowing for tool-free disassembly and reassembly of the piping system for maintenance or component replacement. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters install this fitting in process piping, chemical feed lines, and high-purity fluid systems.
This union is suited for residential and commercial chemical handling systems, water treatment installations, and laboratory piping where aggressive media or high-purity requirements rule out metal fittings. The Schedule 80 wall thickness rating supports higher pressure applications compared to Schedule 40 fittings. The end connections are Slip by SR FIPT, providing flexibility in connecting to both solvent-welded and threaded piping configurations. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-inch Schedule 80 PVDF piping systems using solvent-weld and SR FIPT connections, conforming to ASTM D3222.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified industrial pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before removing or installing the union. Use only PVDF-compatible solvent cement on the slip connection and do not apply thread sealant incompatible with PVDF on the FIPT connection. Follow applicable plumbing codes including IPC guidelines for plastic piping in chemical service environments.
