The NIBCO CE04000 is a 1/2 inch Schedule 80 PVDF socket union designed for joining and disconnecting plastic pipe runs in corrosive-fluid piping systems. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) is a high-purity fluoropolymer that resists a wide range of aggressive chemicals, making this union well suited for chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial plumbing applications. The slip by SR FIPT end connections allow one side to solvent-weld directly to Schedule 80 pipe while the threaded side provides a removable connection point. Licensed plumbers and industrial pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This union is intended for use in Schedule 80 plastic piping systems handling corrosive or high-purity fluids where periodic disassembly is required. Typical install scenarios include chemical feed lines, ultrapure water systems, and industrial process piping in both commercial and light industrial settings. The PVDF material makes it appropriate where PVC or CPVC would be chemically incompatible with the process fluid.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit union for Schedule 80 PVDF plastic piping systems with 1/2 inch pipe diameter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter familiar with Schedule 80 plastic piping systems. Shut off and fully depressurize the piping system before disassembling or installing any union fitting. Use only solvent cement rated for PVDF on the slip end, and follow the cement manufacturer's cure time before restoring flow. Consult applicable plumbing codes, including the IPC, for pressure ratings and approved applications of PVDF fittings in your jurisdiction.
