The NIBCO CE03949 is a Schedule 80 PVDF threaded pipe nipple designed for demanding fluid handling applications where chemical resistance and pressure integrity are critical. Constructed from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), this nipple delivers superior resistance to a wide range of aggressive chemicals, making it a reliable choice for industrial and commercial piping systems. At 2 inches nominal pipe size with NPT threads, it connects directly into threaded fittings and valves without additional adapters. Plumbers and pipefitters install this component as a close or short nipple run in corrosive-fluid lines, high-purity water systems, and chemical transfer piping.
This nipple is suited for industrial process piping, chemical distribution systems, and high-purity water applications where metal pipe would corrode or contaminate the fluid stream. The natural PVDF color indicates an unfilled resin, which is preferred in semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical processing, and aggressive chemical handling environments. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added pressure-bearing capacity compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for moderate to elevated pressure service in both above-ground and supported inline installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for 2-inch Schedule 80 PVDF threaded piping systems using standard NPT fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with thermoplastic piping systems. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removal or installation of any threaded nipple. Use PTFE thread tape or a compatible thread sealant rated for PVDF and the specific fluid service — avoid over-tightening, as PVDF threads can crack under excessive torque. Follow applicable plumbing codes including IPC and local jurisdictional requirements for plastic piping in the intended service environment.
